With an increase in violence throughout Chicago, overcrowded hospitals, increased incarceration rates, we stand as an intercessor. Mental Health Meets Hip-Hop is an initiative of "Just A Mile Away Mental Health Services Inc." Just A Mile Away Mental Health Services Inc.  is a Non-profit organization actively seeking to provide unorthodox holistic human mental health services to individuals and families through culturally sensitive education, prevention, spiritual awareness, treatment, and recovery interventions.These services are geared toward supporting mental health education, facilitating community empowerment, and stimulating economic development. We are actively seeking to purchase our first community center.  In hopes of providing mental wellness to the community we plan to successfully stand in the gap of mental illness and help each and every individual gain a more abundant life through clinical treatment. The three largest mental health facilities in the United States are correctional facilities – Cook County Jail in Illinois, Los Angeles County Jail, and Rikkers in New York.

Our goal is to not only provide client centered mental health services, we are actively seeking to empower the community by the community. Employing the best licensed, certified, and experienced mental health professionals from the West and South Side will  not only  increase the communication between staff and client, but it will empower community unity. We are here to not only infiltrate THE CULTURE, but be apart of HEALING THE CULTURE.
